MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

March 13, 2007.
1. Arnie Robinson, Vice President, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
The Board members present were Arnie Robinson, Paul Greer, Graeme Shirley, Thom
Hunt, Philip Dunn, Lolitia Bache, Jim Skelly, Jennifer Nanista, and Mike Adkins.
In addition, Jay Beltz and Elizabeth Tate were present.
2. The minutes of prior month’s meeting on February 13, 2007 were not
reviewed or approved as the Secretary, Sharon Powell, was not present to present
the minutes.
3. Treasurer’s Report – Lolitia Bache delivered the Treasurer’s
report showing a check account balance of $12,750.51 and a CD balance of $16,000.
Lolitia mentioned there were some issues to be discussed by the finance committee
concerning receipts and expenses of the Junior Olympics Association Meet held
in 2006.
4. Track & Field – Jennifer Nanista commented on the upcoming Aztec
Track & Field Classic on March 16-17, 2007.
5. Race Walking – Philip Dunn reported that he was submitting the Financial
Report for the USATF 50km Nationals to Lolitia and requesting reimbursement.
He also noted that he and John Nunn supported the SDTC two weeks ago at Mission
Bay by racing in the 15km.
6. Awards Banquet – Jay Beltz reported on the Annual Awards Banquet to
be held at the Admiral Baker Navy Recreation facility on March 25th at 12 noon.
Jay emphasized the need to get all the award recipients names in by this week
in order to get the awards made up in time. In addition, a communication needs
to be sent out in order to get some attendance from the association membership.
A discussion followed and it was agreed that the following would submit names
for the awards: Youth – Mike Adkins, Track & Field/Ramona Pagel/Arnie
Robinson – Jennifer Nanista, Race Walking – Philip Dunn, Gookin
M/F – Paul Greer. Masters M/F – Graeme Shirley to coordinate with
Kettrell Berry. It was further agreed that Paul Greer would be the Master of
Ceremonies for the event.
7. LDR – Thom Hunt reported on the upcoming Challenge Cup held at the
San Diego Imperial Section Distance Carnival on June 16th to be sponsored by
Road Runner Sports including prize money. He also mentioned the upcoming Dirt
Dog series and planning for the Nationals CC event to be held on 2/9/2008 at
Mission Bay.
8. Youth – Mike Adkins reported on the planning of the upcoming JO Olympic
Association meet to be held on 6/9-10/2007. The regional meet to be held on
July 31/August 1, 2007 at Las Vegas.
9. Board meeting site – Lolitia Bache reported that FMG is moving it’s
location to Liberty Station in May and it is undetermined at this time if our
board will be able to continue to meet in their new offices.
